Erik Edmond Bendl

Erik Edmond Bendl passed on to beyond Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, in Louisville, KY. Erik lived a life larger than most. He is known to many as, "WorldGuy". His efforts enriched the lives many, and enlightened and delighted even more as he moved the world, a six-foot large version of it, over 15,000 miles to raise awareness that just getting out and moving can combat the effects of diabetes. Erik was 61 years old.

Erik was a carpenter by trade, known for his ability to do most anything, and always willing to help most anyone. Erik's passing is preceded by his mother, Gerta Bendl; his father, Dick Bendl; and a sister, Pat.

Some of those closest to him include his son, Ethan; his long-time significant-other, Mary (Fink) O'Brien; sister, Paula; brother, Kurt; and many, many close friends. You know who you are.

A gathering to celebrate Erik's life will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 from 3pm to 8pm.
