Eric Scot Mcgar

October 10, 1960 — December 24, 2015

Eric Scot McGar, 55, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, formerly of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2015. Eric had worked at Home Depot in Tucson and had been a programmer for IBM Corp. He attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, Indiana. An avid fan of NASCAR, he also loved mountain biking; and always an animal lover, he was especially fond of cats.

Eric was born on October 10, 1960, to Eva M. (Sanford) McGar and the late Iley H. McGar. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Mark McGar; sister, Barbara Bierman (Phillip); nephew, Thomas Bierman (Kelsey); and his birth son, Justin Gephart (Amanda) and their children, Clayton, Colton, and Cameron Gephart.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN) and 9 to 11 AM on Tuesday. His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
