Emma Virginia Chapman de Insignares, 94, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019. She was a wonderful mother and loving wife. Emma enjoyed hosting gatherings and was a wonderful cook.
She was born on December 29, 1924, in Barranquilla, Colombia, to the late Fransisco and Leonor (Otero) Chapman. Emma was also preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Rafael Insignares Saenz.
Emma is survived by her children, Alfredo Insignares, Mayra Dedas (Rick), Virginia Pfaadt (Allen), and Rafael (Belinda), Marcela, and Esperanza Insignares; brothers, Mario (Gladys), Galo (Anna), and Ignacio Bustillo (Sophia); sisters, Camila, Romana, and Josefina Chapman; sisters-in-law, Anna Segrera, Margarita Paternostro, and Olga Buendia; grandchildren, A.J. Pfaadt, Danny Pfaadt (Darcy), and Frederick, Kristina, Jonathan, and Nicole Insignares, Natalie Dedas, and Paloma Medina; great-grandchildren, Kyle Insignares and Bradlee Pfaadt; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Cremation was chosen following Emma's wishes, and she will be laid to rest privately with her husband in Barranquilla, Colombia, South America.
