Emilio Miguel Zayas

Emilio Miguel Zayas, 19, of Prospect, Kentucky passed away on October 21, 2015. He was a 2014 graduate of Kentucky Country Day School. Emilio played football for St. Mary Academy, Trinity High School, KCD, and Union College. He played rugby for the Kentucky High School All-Stars, and participated in many other sports including track and field in high school and college. While fiercely competitive, he had a huge heart, gentle demeanor, and a wicked sense of humor. Emilio will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Emilio was born on January 28, 1996, Louisville, Kentucky to Julio and Michele (Bradford) Zayas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Emilio is survived by his parents, Julio and Michele; sister, Lucia; brother, Julio Jr. (Dawn); niece, Aviana; nephew, Isaiah; and family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville). During the last hour of visitation, family and friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories. His Mass will be held Monday at 10:00 am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church (6500 Bernadette Ave, Prospect).
