Elva "Lucille" (Shutt) Morris, 94, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018. Lucille was a member of the Park Boulevard/Gardiner Lane Church of Christ for over 60 years and was also known as a great cook. She loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lucille was born on September 13, 1924 in Drakesboro, Kentucky to the late William R. and Martha J. (Buchanan) Shutt. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, James L. Morris; son, Steve Morris; grandson, Evan Morris; and siblings, Ginny Collier, Bibble Alvin, and Bill Shutt.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kathy Jones (Norman), Keith Morris (Lisa), and Laura Butterfield (Brad); grandchildren, Chris (Lori), Nathan (Sara), and Trevor (Amanda) Jones, Brandon (Randilyn), Heather, Drew, and Jacob Morris, Keira (Adam) Wheeler, Adam (Marissa) Lane, and Eli Money; great-grandchildren, Aleigha, Noah, Macy, Aaron, Molly, Abby, Emma, Aidan, Amelia, Jordon, Bella, Addison, Braysen, Keaton, Harrison, Max, and Jonathan; siblings, David Shutt and Mae Dezern; brother-in-law, Steve Alvin; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany. Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
The family requests that contributions in Lucille 's memory be made to the American Cancer Association or the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
