Elmore "J.R." L. Pierce, Jr., passed away peacefully in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 27, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on October 18, 1959, in Louisville, he spent his life bringing joy to those around him through his infectious spirit, remarkable humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.

J.R.'S career journey took him from the sun-kissed shores of Florida, where he worked at a carwash, to the roads of Louisville, where he served as a tow truck driver and dedicated cab driver, affectionately known as "Eagle" by his coworkers. His passion for driving was evident in every mile he traveled, always cherishing the freedom of the open road. Whether it was indulging in his love for cars or simply reveling in the color blue, he embraced life with a genuine enthusiasm that was contagious to all who knew him.

He attended Jeffersonville High School, where his lively personality began to shine. His ability to connect with others made him a cherished companion to many, often capturing hearts with his humor and warmth. He never met a stranger and always made friends effortlessly, showcasing his gift for making others feel valued and appreciated.

J.R. was not just a loving partner but also an adoring uncle. He shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews, bringing laughter and joy into their lives. He held a profound affection for little Lydia, Kayleigh, and Greysen, who were bright spots in his world, reflecting the deep love he had for family. His significant other of 30 years, Kimberly Bennett, stood by his side, and together they created a life filled with memories, love, and companionship.

J.R. is survived by his son, Jason Lee Pierce; grandsons, Logan and Tristen; granddaughter Kaitlyn; and sisters, Linda (Larry) Olinick and Debbie (Bill) Meredith. Each of them will carry his spirit and love in their hearts as they continue to navigate life without him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Bishop; father, Elmore Leanord Pierce, Sr.; and brother, John Pierce. J.R.’s legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, the laughter that followed him, and the love he shared so generously.
