Elmer "Butch" Risinger, Jr., 70, passed away from Glioblastoma on Sunday April 7th, 2019 at his home in LaGrange, KY he was surrounded by his family. Butch was born December 16th, 1948 to Elmer and Venal Risinger in Louisville, KY. He was the oldest son of 7 children. He attended Durrett High School.
Butch was owner and President of Advantage Painting LLC, now known as Advantage Painting and Son LLC. His greatest enjoyment was spreading the word of God and spending time with his family and his dog Sam. He was the most generous and straight forward man around. Butch loved cruising around in his Corvette and was an avid UofL fan. Butch's sense of humor will truly be missed by all.
Butch is survived by his former wife Karen Risinger (D'Amico) who was his best friend and caregiver; son, Jeffrey Risinger; daughter, Tonya Monie (Mark); 4 granddaughters, Kali Risinger (fiancé Will Voss) Kristina Risinger, Alyssa Ochsner, Alexis Risinger and great-grandson, Bentley Thomas. He is survived by his siblings, Pamela Parker (Paul), Toni Dewees, Rick Risinger (Linda), Dennis Risinger (Cindy), Donna Dorton, Judy Motherhead (Steve); half-sister, Sharon Underwood and aunts, uncles and numerous nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Risinger; mother, Venal Masden Bickett and her husband, Bill; his sister Beverly Miller; and his grandmother, Minnie Masden.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 3 pm - 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243), with a service to honor the life of Butch on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10 am at the funeral home.
