Elmer Harris Cheatwood

Elmer Harris Cheatwood Jr., 97, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Harris was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart and never failed to share his faith with people who crossed his path. He treasured his life with Sue deeply and sharing their story. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid UK fan. He enjoyed a nice scotch, a good steak and just being with his family. He was a great man of wit and humor who will be dearly missed by all who knew him!

He was born on January 23, 1929 in Unadilla, Georgia to Elmer and Grace (Mims) Cheatwood. He is preceded in death by his Father, Elmer Harris Cheatwood, Sr., Mother, Grace Cheatwood, Wife of 73 years, Martha Sue Cheatwood.

Harris is survived by his loving Children, Pam (Louie) Tillotson, Ronald Harris (Carrol) Cheatwood, and Scottie Cheatwood, Grandchildren, Tara (Mike) Steele, Christopher (Jamie) Cheatwood, Courtney (Joe) Tudor, Great-Grandchildren, Bella Steele, Hezekiah Steele, Abigail Steele, Charlotte Cheatwood, Eleanor Cheatwood, Harrison Tudor and Margot Tudor. His loving caregivers - Kim Yurjenich, Kathy Burba, Tina Grabowski, Marilyn Brown and Jenn Trujillo, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
