Ellen Barbara Reed

Ellen Barbara Reed, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. Ellen was an avid gardener and loved taking care of stray cats. She had a strong work ethic and passed that down to her family. She had musical talents that were shared with her family and she loved playing the violin. She loved going out with her friends when she was younger and playing music together all over Louisville. The musician she truly loved the most was Johnny Mathis. She is a cancer survivor of 20 years. She adored her father and she will rest with her father and mother at Cave Hill Cemetery.

She was born on August 5, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to Clyde and Lillian (Gaddie) Booker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wade Gilbert Reed, Sr.; father, Clyde Booker, mother, Lillian Booker; son, Kevin Booker; siblings, Helen Carr and Nancy Zanone; significant other, Malcolm Heistand.

Ellen is survived by her loving family, son, Wade Gilbert (Sante) Reed, Jr.; grandchildren, Heather Reed, Kayla (Ryan) Reed, and Jason Booker; nieces, Michele, Debbie, Anita, Debbie, Diana, Anna, Judy, and Jennifer; nephew, Johnny and Nick. As well as a host of family and friends to cherish her loving memory.

The burial service will be Saturday April 24th, 2021 at 1pm at Cave Hill Cemetery.
