She went on to build a life that reflected both compassion and skill. She worked at Jewish Hospital as a nursing aid, serving others in a role that called for kindness and dedication. Ellen’s talents and interests touched many parts of her life. She was an accomplished seamstress whose work included making several Miss Kentucky gowns, a distinction that reflected both her artistry and her attention to detail. She also created a quilt a month for veterans, offering comfort and beauty through a steady and generous labor of love. Gardening, quilting, reading, cooking, and socializing all brought her joy. She loved birds, enjoyed raising them and bird watching, and found happiness in travel and camping.
Family was an important part of Ellen’s life, and she leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward. She is survived by her children, Mona Cattan (Brendan Lewis), Roberta Cattan, and Joe Cattan (Alisa Miller); her grandchildren, Christian Thomas, Matthew Collazo, Connie Blair, Thomas Sullivan, and Sarah Cattan; and her great-grandchildren, Marilyn Collazo, Aislyn Thomas, Savannah Denny, Tyler Denny, Cynthia Sullivan, Cassidy Sullivan, and Kai Cattan; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
