Ella Clay Wills

Ella Clay "Sonny" Wills, 99, passed away on November 28, 2017. She was born on June 10, 1918 in Xenia, OH to the late Arthur and Martha Chinof Starling. Ella confessed hope in Christ at King Solomon Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. She was the founder and president of the TaTa Club. Ella was full of life, enjoyed dancing, cutting up and loved shopping at Roses's Department Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Emma Louise Basey; sisters, Georgia Shoecraft, Sue Hurst and Lilia Finch and grandson, Jermain Walker.

Ella is survived by her daughters, Junella Gaston and Edwina Basey (James) Anderson; son, Tony M. Basey; grandchildren, Jerome (Doris) Frierson, Sherman (Sherry) Frierson, Iler Cornelius Crawford, Regina Frierson, LaRon (Sharon) Basey, Hiddy Jewel, Lavada Basey, Monta (Edwina) Taylor and Troy Basey; 21 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway from 9am-11am with a celebration of Ella's life beginning at 11am at the chapel of the funeral home.
