Elizabeth Ann (Schuley) Wheeler

Elizabeth Ann (Schuley) Wheeler, 93, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. She was talented at caning and refinishing furniture, and also enjoyed braiding rugs and crocheting afghans. Elizabeth was a devout Christian and Baptist by faith.

She was born on April 26, 1926 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Eugene and Ellen (Blunk) Schuley. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wheeler; and siblings, Virginia Parsley, Martha Norton and Robert Schuley.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Janet Jeffries (David), Nancy Higgs (Jacob), Debra East (Danny); sister, Helen Lynch; grandchildren, David Jeffries (BeeMee), Deena Brown (Donny), Todd East (Serenity); great-grandchildren, Hannah Jeffries, Thomas East, Nicholas Jeffries, and Gavyn Brown.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. Her funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville.
