Elizabeth Jane Ritchey

Elizabeth Jane Ritchey passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 30, 1946, Elizabeth will be remembered with deep love by those who knew her and by the family she cherished so dearly.

Elizabeth found joy in life’s simple and happy moments. She enjoyed spending time with friends golfing, bowling, and shopping, pastimes that brought her pleasure and created many memories with the people around her. She will be remembered as someone whose presence was woven into the everyday lives of her family, and whose love endured across generations. She was very strong in her faith.

She is survived by her daughters, Heather Ritchey, Donna (Rick) Green, and Margaret Groll. Elizabeth’s legacy continues through her granddaughters, Kristi Hodges and Cathy Hodges, and through her great-grandchildren, Shaylee, Talon, and Ethan. She is also lovingly remembered through the wider circle of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and with her cherished nieces and nephews, whose lives were touched by her care and presence.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Ritchey. She was also preceded by her mother, Martha Brown, and her father, Timothy Brown Sr. In addition, she was reunited in rest with her sisters, Mary Brown, Johanna Mullaney, and Patricia Baynes, and with her brothers, Timothy Brown Jr, Johnny Brown, and Eddie Brown.

Elizabeth Jane Ritchey will be held close in the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory lives on in the generations of loved ones who survive her, and in the many moments of joy, companionship, and love that she shared throughout her life.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. A funeral mass will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive, Louisville, KY 40299, on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026, at 10:00am.
