Elizabeth Dersarkisian Shaw May

Elizabeth DerSarkisian Shaw May, 94, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019. Elizabeth will be remembered for her kind smile that she had for everyone she met. She enjoyed meeting for coffee and gossip with her McDonald's group. Elizabeth was a resident at Bennett Place and loved everyone there. She could often be found enjoying a game of Bunco or Bingo. Elizabeth was a member of Graceland Baptist Church where she attended Bible studies. She also had a love for angels and even collected them.

She was born on August 15, 1925 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Paul and Deriff (DerOhanian) DerSarkisian. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Sarkis DerSarkisian; sister, Rose Bellville; and niece, Barbara Sorrells.

Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughter, Betty Ann (Paul) Fisher; niece, Missy (Dennis) Stotts; nephews, Sammy (Kathy) DerSarkisian, Thomas (Beth) DerSarkisian and Richard (Suzanne) Bellville.

A Celebration of Life will at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Bennett Place Assisted Living Community (3928 Horne Avenue, New Albany, IN). Cremation was chosen following Elizabeth's wishes.
