Elizabeth Jane Delius

Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Delius, 93, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on July 3, 2016. In 1949 Betty was hired as the first employee/faculty member of Bellarmine University and Director of Library, serving the University for 45 years. Betty earned a MSLS from Catholic University in Washington D.C., was a President of the Kentucky Library Association, was appointed to the Governor's State Advisory Council on Libraries, and served on other boards and commissions throughout her career.

Betty was born on August 25, 1922, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Fred and Grace Delius. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert F. Delius and his wife, Colleen, and Fred Delius.

Betty is survived by her nephews, Guy F. Delius and his wife, Mitzi Delius, and Steve Delius; and nieces, Linda Delius, Vicky, Debbie, and Susan.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church (1920 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40205) with her Funeral Mass immediately following at 11:00 am. Burial will be at St. Louis Cemetery (1167 Barrett Ave. Louisville, KY 40204).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church or the KY Humane Society.
