Elizabeth "Betty" R. Rice, 87, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019.
Betty was born May 17, 1932 in Albany, NY to George and Rose Ann Harris. She worked for GE Appliance Park for 38 years and was the first woman on the assembly line in 1955. Betty was also the very first female shop steward for Local 761 and was the first woman forklift driver at GE. She was an avid UofL fan, and after retirement from GE, became a Cards Special Forces Usher at all of the UofL games so she could attend games free.
She is preceded in death by her son, Ron­ald Pinchbeck.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Christine (Pinchbeck) Wright, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and many people who loved her.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, No­vember 12, 2019 from 12 to 8 pm at Newcom­er Funeral Home, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Dr).
Memorial Contributions in Betty's memory can be donated to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org) or Dementia Society of America (www.dementiasociety.org).
