Elisabeth "Lisa" Anne Boroughs left this world on February 15, 2021. Lisa was born on March 12, 1976, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Teresa Showalter and David K. Boroughs. Lisa grew up in both Jefferson County and Oldham County, graduating from Oldham County High School. Following high school, Lisa primarily lived her life in the greater Louisville area except for a few years when she lived in Florida and in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Lisa was known for her life-long passion and love of working with and caring for animals. She originally worked with a large cat rescue organization and later as a lead veterinary assistant for many years, always an advocate for animals in need. She was a pharmaceutical technician for some time, in addition to working as a painter and an auto mechanic. Her most recent employment was working from home as a customer service representative. Lisa also enjoyed crewing for and flying in hot air balloons with her Uncle Brad, her Uncle Bart and with many other balloonist teams in local and regional balloon events. Lisa's other passion in life was experiencing live music! Her favorite event was Abbey Road on the River, a week-long, international concert series centered around Beatles music. At AROTR, you could always find her enthusiastically listening and dancing in the front row of her favorite bands, surrounded by her friends. Lisa made countless friends at AROTR with musicians and fans alike throughout the States and around the globe, all of whom will miss her dearly. She deeply loved her Abbey Road Family and they were an important part of her life. Lisa was preceded in death her parents and her grandfather William "Bill" Boroughs.
Lisa is survived by her grandmother, Lenore Bowling Boroughs of Louisville; her grandmother, Rose Showalter of Florida; her three uncles, Mark (Susan) Boroughs, Brad (Terri) Boroughs and Bart Boroughs; and her aunt, Georgia Bush. She is also survived by her great uncle, Ed (Barbara) Bowling; and cousins, Jena Bowling Gartin, Tyler Gartin, Tessa Gartin and Kathryn Boroughs.
Lisa loved her family, her friends and her well-adored cats - - all of whom adored her in return. Her caring spirit, her wit, her smile and her laughter will all be missed.
