Elisa Ritchie

Elisa R. Ritchie passed away on February 18, 2019. She was born on August 16, 1949 in Charleston, S.C. and graduated from the College of Charleston in 1976.

She was married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Charleston in 1974 to Michael H. Ritchie. Together they had two sons Michael Scott Ritchie in 1978 and Gregory J. Ritchie in 1984, the couple moved to Louisville, KY in 1977. Elisa is also survived by three brothers, one sister and one grandson.

With a teaching certificate from Charleston she planned to teach but instead became a tutor in math and chemistry. Elisa realized her talents as a gifted tutor in those subjects and believed that her ministry was tutoring students in those areas, many from parochial schools. She had a minor degree in psychology and used it skillfully to give the students confidence that they desperately needed.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).

Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Epiphany Catholic Church (914 Old Harrods Creek Road Louisville, KY 40223).
