Listen to Obituary

Eleanor “Nikki” Necole Tripp, née Whitworth, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on December 6, 1969, in Louisville, where she spent her life surrounded by family and friends who cherished her deeply.

Nikki’s character was shaped by the warmth of her family and the values instilled in her from a young age. She was the beloved daughter of Loyal Eugene Whitworth and the late Alice Marie Whitworth. Nikki’s strong family ties remained a cornerstone of her life, and she shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings—Carolyn Martin (Tommy), Liz Little, and Chris Fisher (Ron). She will be dearly missed by her step-son, Noel, and her step-daughters, Hannah and Katie, all of whom she cared for with an open heart. Nikki’s loving nature also extended to her cherished niece, Ashley (Dillion), as well as her nephew, Corey, her great-nephew, Aiden and her great-niece, Addy.

A proud graduate of Meade County High School, Nikki’s commitment to duty and service led her to enlist in the Navy, where she served honorably during the Gulf War. Her dedication to protecting others continued long after her time in the military; she devoted more than 15 years to working as a security guard for Allied Security. Colleagues remember her steadfast reliability and her willingness to help whenever it was needed.

Those who knew Nikki can attest to her radiant spirit and loving personality. She was known for offering a helping hand to anyone in need, touching countless lives through her kindness and compassion. Nikki was quick to see the good in everyone she met, and her warmth brightened every room she entered.

Outside of her professional and family commitments, Nikki found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time outdoors gardening and mowing the yard, embracing each moment with appreciation for the beauty around her. One of her dearest companions was her puppy Chloe, who brought even more love and laughter into her daily life.

Nikki’s impact reaches far beyond her accomplishments and accolades; it is felt most keenly in the hearts of those she inspired with her generosity, resilience, and devotion. As they mourn her loss, her family and friends take comfort in the rich legacy of love and guidance she leaves behind.
