Elaine Crecelius Willinger

April 6, 1947 — March 17, 2021

Frances "Elaine" Crecelius Willinger, age 73 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

Elaine was born April 6th, 1947 on a perfect Easter day. She was preceded in death by her mother Ethel Brown (Crecelius) and her father Edward Crecelius.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 37 years, Don Willinger; two daughters, Lindsay Willinger, Nakia Barney; three sisters, Mary Barnett, Rose Bohr, Kitty Bohannon; three brothers, Larry Crecelius, Mark Crecelius, Paul Crecelius; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins and a host of family and friends.

Elaine was known for her kind heart and great love for Jesus. She was a long-term member of Southeast Christian Church where she served in many different ministries. She was seen in the children's ministry, helping with life bridge and cleaning the church. Elaine touched the heart of many and was an angel to almost everyone she came in contact with.

Visitation will be 4 to 8pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243 and 2 to 3pm on Thursday, March 25th at the Chapel in the Woods 1407 Moser Road Louisville, KY 40299. A celebration of Elaine's life will be 3pm at Chapel in the Woods.
