Eilean Pearl (Miller) Hines, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on November 16, 1936, to Daniel and Willie Marie (Spencer) Miller, Eilean’s life was marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep love for those around her.
Eilean spent the majority of her life living in Lake County, Indiana, where she raised six children while working at KFC, and numerous other places, providing for her family. She later embraced retirement by moving to Southern Indiana, where she became an active and dedicated member of Memphis Christian Church. Her faith and community involvement were sources of strength and joy during her later years. Beyond her spiritual commitments, she was a lifelong, avid fan of Chicago Cubs baseball. Eilean also found happiness in doing her daily devotions, praying for her church family, as well as bird watching, cooking and baking. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, who were the center of her world.
Eilean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Hines; children Darlene "Dee" Hines, Mark Hines, and Daniel Hines; granddaughter Samantha Hines; as well as siblings Wayne, Roselie, Ronnie, Barbara, and Delbert Miller.
She leaves behind a legacy through her surviving children: Jack Hines, Jr. (Donna), Cheryl Allen, Paul Hines and his wife Valerie, and Charla Martinez with her husband Steve. Eilean was blessed with numerous grandchildren who brought her great pride and joy: Julie Pittman (Jennifer), Paul Pittman (Meghan), Tonya Bryant (Scott), Michael Hines (Rickie), James Hines (Maegan), Sean Thomas, Nathan Hines (Melissa), Marrisa Huff (James), Rachelle LeVine (Max), Samantha Hines, Alex Martinez, Spencer Hines, and Noah Bowman. Her family tree further flourishes with fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
