Edwin Lee Owen, age 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, left this world on Saturday, November 30, 2024. He began his journey on January 3, 1957, in Alameda, California, born to Stewart and Elizabeth (Pugh) Owen. Edwin, lovingly known as Lee, is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Delana Ann Owen and his beloved sister, Becky Figueroa.
Lee's spirit lives on through his dedicated family. He is survived by his loving children: Lori R. (Joshua) Rothman, Anthony J. (Samantha) Foard, Joshua A. (Amber) Foard, and Andrew J. Foard. His legacy continues with his adoring grandchildren—Lucas, Hailey, Skylar, Paige (Victor), Kaydee, Bella, Jordan, Deziraye (Bryce), Josh Jr. (Mia), Tyler, A’Miracle, Donnie, Serenna (Aiden), Cody, and Viola—as well as his great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Matheo, and Lila Rose. Lee is also remembered by his brother, Stewart (Rachelle) Owen, his sisters-in-law Patricia (Marilyn) Dennison and Terri Dennison, as well as his brothers-in-law, David Figueroa, Mark Gaskill, Paul Gaskill, and Chris (Patricia) Gaskill, along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
A man of honor, Lee served our country proudly in the U.S. Army and held a steadfast pride in his nation. As a dedicated Republican, he fervently wished for the best for the country he selflessly served and for all those fortunate enough to call the United States home. His faith as a Christian guided him throughout his life, and he found peace in worshiping with his church family at Medora Christian Church.
After more than 40 years of service at Publishers Printing, Lee—affectionately dubbed “Double Trouble”—found joy in hobbies like spending time on his CB radio, watching classic westerns and Star Trek, and yard selling. However, nothing brought him more happiness than the moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren; family was always his number one priority. His attitude about how important family was, carried through to other members of the family. This held true when it came to his niece, Jacquleine Weil; in his final days, she was there to help care for Lee.
Friends and family are invited to honor Lee’s memory during visitation from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 15th, and from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, December 16th, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy.
