June 1, 1937 — March 23, 2016

Edwin Phillip "Ed" Boyd, Jr, 78, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served 4 years aboard the USS Destroyer based out of Norfolk, VA. Ed was a member of the Utica Masonic Lodge No. 337 and V.F.W. Post 3281 in New Albany. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Ed was born on June 1, 1937 in New Albany, IN to the late Edwin P. Boyd, Sr., and Annabelle (Robertson) Boyd. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Boyd; son, Ronald Warman.

He is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Lorrene D. (Stroud) Boyd; sons, Edwin P. Boyd, III, William R. Boyd (Tricia), Roger Warman (Jackie); daughters, Sherry L. Yount (James) and Shirley Weatherston (Rex); sister, Jo Ann Lausterer (Robert); 12 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM, Monday, March 28, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Bethel Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, IN.
