Edward G. "Papaw" VanMeter, Sr. ,74, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on January 7, 2018.
Eddie was born on April 14, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to the late David and Edna VanMeter.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Ella VanMeter; children, Betsy Ramey (Ahmed), Karen Stivers, Donna Horton (Ronyal), Edward Glenn VanMeter, Jr., and Connie Morrison (Lane); grandchildren, Lindsey Cummins, Alexander Gray, Zachary Stivers (Danielle), Chandler Hardesty, Tyler Hardesty (Alaysia), Brennan Hardesty (Erica), Nicholas Morrison and Katie Morrison; great-grandchildren, Ephraim Hardesty, Darcy Hardesty, Ellington Hardesty and Gentry Hardesty; siblings, David VanMeter, Jr. (Janet), Peggy Perry (Herman), Joyce Lilly (Paul) and John T. Montgomery (Rosie); and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243).A service to honor the life of Edward will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, in Shelbyville, KY.
