Edward Lee Mayfield, Sr.

Edward Lee Mayfield, Sr., 73, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018. He served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Pillsbury after 46 years in the maintenance department. Ed was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as golf and gardening.

He was born on February 25, 1945, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late William and Sylvia (Smith) Mayfield.

Ed is survived by his wife of 22 years, Earlene (Purcell) Mayfield; children, Denise Buddemeyer (Todd) and Eddie Mayfield (Danelle); siblings, Billie Dahl, Gary Mayfield (Susan), Beverly Nash (Roger), and Dee Alstott (Ronnie); 9 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – Southern Indiana Chapel (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Tuesday after 11:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery.
