Edward Lee Logsdon Sr.

Edward L. Logsdon, 86, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Ed graduated Male High School. He served 13 years In the US Air Force. He was a photographer for the Air Force among other duties. After leaving the Air Force he became a letter carrier for the US Postal Service and retired after 30 years.

Ed was passionate about the Boy Scouts and was very involved with his children and then his grandchildren for over 30 years. He loved teaching archery. He loved children.

Ed always had a smile and his face and was quite the jokester. He never met a stranger.

He loved flirting with waitresses and nurses, even when he wasn’t feeling his best.

Ed and Gladys traveled many places and went on several cruises.

One of his biggest joys was going to Derby Dinner Playhouse. They held season passes for over 30 years.

He and Gladys are forever together as she passed away 4 days after him on August 26th.

He was born on June 9, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to Virgil and Thelma (Benham) Logsdon. He is preceded in death by his Father, Virgil Edgar Logsdon, Mother, Thelma Dink Logsdon, Daughter, Edwina L. Raines, Grandson, Jason Logsdon, and Brother, Jim Logsdon.

Edward is survived by his loving Wife of 50 years, Gladys M. Logsdon, Children, Todd R. (Michele deceased) Logsdon, Laura L. (Steve) Hulsman, and Lee E. (Tammy) Howard; Grandchildren, Holly, Heather, Brandie, Clayton, and Mavia; 11 Great-Grandchildren; Niece, Danielle Logsdon, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, Kentucky on Monday September 8th, 2025 at 12:30pm.

A gathering meal will be immediately following the service on Saturday.
