Edward John Grimes Jr.

Edward John "Jay" Grimes Jr., 47, lost his battle to cancer on Saturday January 18, 2020, at the Veterans Hospital in Louisville, KY. He graduated from Camden High in Camden, NY; Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY and served in the United States Navy on the USS John F. Kennedy.
He was born on September 18, 1972 in New Hartford, NY to Catherine and Edward Grimes. He is survived by his wife Maria Grimes; his children Dante', Makayla, Kaleilani, Love', Harmynee, and Alana Grimes; his mother Catherine Grimes; and his siblings Floralee A. Torres, Travis Grimes, Chantelle Young and Tabitha Lamphere; and Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and In-Laws.
He is preceded in death by his son Sean Michael, his father Edward John Sr., his maternal grandparents Leone J. Teel and Thomas F. Rotolo, and paternal grandparents Leona and John Grimes.
He will always be loved and missed by his family and friends. Gone but never forgotten.
Visitation well be held from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive). A funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm at the funeral home. Graveside services with military honors will he held on Monday, February 3rd at 1:00 pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.
