Edward "Ed" Charles Prescott

Edward Prescott, 73, passed away on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, after a courageous ten-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born on April 29, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Charles and Gladys Prescott, Ed lived a life marked by service, faith, and deep devotion to his family.

He served with the Louisville Police Department for 20 years, retiring in 1992, served as Past President of the Louisville Downtown Lions Club, and was a longtime member of Southeast Christian Church, where he joyfully served in various roles.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia, and is survived by his loving wife, Gayle Hayes Prescott, and cherished daughter, Valerie Prescott. During his final year, Ed was tenderly cared for by a devoted team of caregivers, allowing him to remain at home surrounded by those he loved most.

Visitation will be held at Southeast Christian Church Chapel in the Woods (1407 Moser Road, Louisville KY 40299) on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a service to follow at 12:00 pm. Following the service a reception for family and friends will be held in the Fireside Room at the Blankenbaker Campus. Expressions of sympathy may be made to TKO Parkinson’s or Southeast Christian Church.
