Edward E. Schmitt

Edward E. Schmitt, age 85, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, and retired as superintendent of Hurstbourne Country Club after 34 years of service. Ed was a member of Southeast Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Schmitt; and his daughter-in-law, Theresa Ann Schmitt.

Ed is survived by his loving children, Edward H. Schmitt and Susan Stewart (Larry); grandchildren, Ashley Schmitt, Michelle Cobble (David), Stephen Stewart (Carree) and Matthew Stewart (Mallory); great-grandchildren, Sophia, Judah and Eden; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 1-8pm on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. Funeral ceremony will be 10am Saturday, October 22nd at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
