Edward Maurice Douglas, Sr.

Edward Maurice "Eddie" Douglas Sr, 74, was born June 22, 1947, in Louisville, KY, to Lawrence and Sylvia Douglas. Eddie passed on April 1, 2022, at the VA Hospital surrounded by his family.
After attending Central High School, Eddie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1965, where he fought in the Vietnam War until 1968, when he was honorably discharged.
If you knew Eddie you knew two things, he liked a good party and he loved his music! The only thing he loved more than music, was his family.
Those waiting to welcome him home are is father, Lawrence Douglas; mother, Sylvia Douglas; 3 brothers, William (Billy), Robert (Bobby) and Larry Douglas, and sister, Christine Rucker (Tina).
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Emma Jean Douglas; his three children, Darlene Guin, Edward Douglas Jr. (Glenda) and Leterrious Douglas; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Shelia Douglas; brothers, Donald Douglas (Mary) and Maurice Garvin and a host of many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 2pm-4pm with a celebration of Edward's life beginning at 4pm.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central, 2501 N. Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, beginning at 2:30pm.
