Edward Charles Striegel

Edward Charles "Eddie" Striegel, 74, passed away on July 20, 2016, in New Albany, Indiana. Eddie was born in New Albany, Indiana, on February 27, 1942, to Edward and Alma (Andres) Striegel. He retired from Local 40 from working as a boilermaker after many years and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Eddie liked playing volleyball and weightlifting and enjoyed having parties with his family and friends.

Along with his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold, Patricia, David, Jane, Steve, and Joe; and son-in-law, Chris Stewart. He is survived by his loving children, Dawn (Striegel) Stewart, Michelle Gregory (Robert), Wendy Sollenberger (Tim), and Nicole Smith (David); sisters, Mary Cestaro (Tony) and Linda Walker (Mike); sister-in-law, Carole Striegel; brothers-in-law, Don Hale and Robert Schellenberg; ten grandchildren, Rene, Amanda, Liam, Riley, Timothy, Johnny, Olivia, Frankie, Taylor, and Austin; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sonja, Ariana, and Alex.

His visitation will be on Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with visitation before from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family in care of Dawn Stewart.
