Leonard enjoyed traveling, camping, piddling and spending time with family. He was a constant presence in the life of his children and enjoyed sharing his love of life and the outdoors with his grandchildren. Leonard always found humor in a situation and kept his family laughing all the time. As a loyal and present servant of God, Leonard taught Sunday school at his church, St. Luke Baptist Church, until his health began to fail.
He received his undergraduate degree from Kentucky State University and his Masters Degree from Western Kentucky University. He began his career in education with Jefferson County Public Schools where he was a teacher and counselor for 28 years until his retirement in 1991. He had a passion for seeing children reach their full potential and that was demonstrated by his continued commitment to educating the youth in our community through his part-time work with JCPS even after retirement.
Leonard is also survived by the many great friends he met throughout his life: childhood, college, and his career.
