Listen to Obituary

Edna Frances Weeks, 95, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026. Born and raised in Lexington, Edna lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and devotion to her family. Her years as a teacher touched the lives of countless students, with her gentle encouragement, patience, and genuine care leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of learning from her.

Edna found joy in life’s simple pleasures. An avid reader, she often enjoyed Ken Follett novels and cherished long conversations with family and friends. Soft-spoken by nature, she possessed a quiet strength and an uncommon ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued, especially those struggling or burdened by life’s challenges.

Edna was preceded in death by her daughter, Nanette, who passed away in 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her sons Jonathan and Mervyn; grandsons Dexter and Lawrence; great-grandson Avery; and siblings Charles and Hermine.

While her family mourns her passing, they also celebrate a remarkable life filled with generosity, grace, and unwavering love. Edna’s legacy lives on in the many students she inspired, the family she cherished, and the countless lives made brighter by her gentle spirit.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
