Edna Irene Slucher

Edna Irene Slucher, 98, entered into eternal peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Essex Nursing Home in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Ernie and Lillie Robinson of Wolfe County, Kentucky. Irene dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurse's aide at Methodist Hospital. She was a devoted member of Arcade Baptist Church.

Known for her compassion and selflessness, Irene always prioritized the needs of others. Even during her time at the nursing home, she continued to extend her help and warmth to fellow residents. Her kindness touched many lives, and her presence will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clarence Woody Slucher, and her son, Donald Lee Slucher, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Michael W. Slucher (Terry); three grandchildren, Mike (Leah), Donnie, and Brent (Amanda); six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Will (Grace), Mallory (Levi), Makenna, Brent, and Jace; and one great-great-grandchild, Emmett.

Visitation for Irene will be on Friday, September 18, from 12-8 PM at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway in Louisville. The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 19, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
