Edith C. (Gaddis) Tyler

December 12, 1930 — July 10, 2017

Edith C. (Gaddis) Tyler, 86, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on July 10, 2017. She loved to read and work in her flower gardens, and was a huge fan of Elvis. Most of all, Edith was strongly dedicated to her family, especially her grandchildren.

Edith was born on December 12, 1930, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to the late Morton and Vera (Keller) Gaddis. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Tyler; daughters, Sandra Campbell and Karen Sullivan; and grandchildren, Tammy Coy and Mikel S. Tyler.

Edith is survived by her children, Wanda Garmon (David), Bobby Tyler (Betty Swope), and Jimmy Tyler; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous siblings.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, with burial to follow at Charlestown Cemetery in Charlestown, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Bobby Tyler to assist in the installment of Edith's cemetery monument.
