Edith Mae Byrd, 70, passed away on May 10, 2016. She retired from Haas Cabinet Company after 29 years of service. Edith enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles and had a great love of her pets. Spending time with her family meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward "JE" Byrd; parents, Dewey and Stella Wright; sister, Bea Riedley; brothers, Fred Wright, Kenneth Wright and Dewey Wright.

Edith is survived by her children, Jaime (Josh) Collins, Raymond Byrd, Tracy Byrd, Shannon (John) Young and Bethany Byrd; grandchildren, Amanda, James, Cory, Brandon, Sadie and Mikayla; 4 great- grandchildren; brothers, Paul Wright and Ernest Wright.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home SW (10304 Dixie Highway) from 3pm-8pm. A celebration of Edith's life will be Friday, May 13, 2016 beginning at 12pm at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home SW.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY.
