Eathel Yvonne Knasel, affectionately known as Yvonne, was born on June 22, 1933, in Corydon, Indiana. She lived a life filled with love, compassion, and adventure until she passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family in New Albany, Indiana.

A proud graduate of Cumberland High School, Yvonne embarked on a successful career after graduation, working for Stout Williams Burke insurance company, where she excelled as a sales representative. Her dedication and hard work were ever evident in the professional realm, but it was within the walls of her home that she truly thrived. Yvonne was a devoted wife, loving mother, affectionate grandmother, and compassionate great-grandmother. Her ability to make family gatherings special—whether during holidays or birthdays—ensured that each moment spent together was cherished and memorable.

Yvonne had a gift for nurturing relationships and creating lasting memories. She poured her heart into her family, finding joy in the little things. She loved nothing more than savoring time with her loved ones, traveling to Florida, or sitting on the porch, sharing stories and laughter. Her cheerful spirit and warm presence had a way of brightening the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her four loving children: Debbie (Gregg) Boyd, Danny (Victoria) Kost, Kathryn Yocum, and Sandra (Steve) Stepro. Yvonne took immense pride in her grandchildren: Kristin Boyd, Brian Boyd, Joshua (Courtney) Stepro, Heather (Jason) Stewart, Jonathan (Lisa) Stepro, Stephanie Stepro, Nicholas Yocum, Harriett Kost, Isabell Kost and her great-grandchildren: Ryan Stewart, Lilly Stewart, Owen Stepro, Onyx Stepro, Carter Hardsaw, Myles Kinney, Tucker Stepro, Hunter Graham, Gunner Graham, Brady Stepro, Scarlet Stepro, Sterling Stepro, Emma Stepro, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews friends and family. Watching her family grow and thrive was undoubtedly one of her proudest accomplishments.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arlis Kost, and her late husband, Wayne Wells Knasel, Jr. She was also predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Dora Anna Rainbolt, and her siblings: Gladys Barfield, Nina Ward, Claude Rainbolt, William Rainbolt, Mary Frances, Elmer Rainbolt, Rosie Shelton, Robert Rainbolt, and Oliver Rainbolt, along with Charles Rainbolt and her grandson, Bobby Stepro.

As we celebrate the life of Eathel Yvonne Knasel, we remember a woman who embodied kindness, humility, and adventurous spirit. Her legacy will forever live on through the countless lives she touched, and the unforgettable memories shared with her family. She will be dearly missed, but her love will remain a guiding light in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
