Earlene Catherine (Leidolf) Lawson Dean, 72, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She retired from Air Guard Industries and was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church. Earlene was gifted with many talents that included both cooking and gardening. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Earlene was a hard worker with a fun loving personality. She was beautiful on the inside and out, she will be missed by all who knew her.
She was born on July 13, 1942 in Floyds Knobs to the late Earl and Minnie (Striegel) Leidolf. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, William Lawson, Herschal Clyde Dean; and sisters, Vada Thomas, Deanna Smith
Earlene is survived by her daughters, Denise Lawson, Teresa Banet, Karen Whitaker; siblings, Alvin Leidolf, Ruth King; grandsons, Jason Lawson, William Legg, Jr.; and great-granddaughter and love of her life, Madisyn Marie Lawson.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 PM on Friday January 16, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
