Earle Victor Stone, 94, died Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Sam Swope Care Center, Masonic Home, Louisville, KY. Born in Hamilton, Ohio, he was a resident of Louisville for 90 years.
In his youth, Earle was a standout student at Male High School in Louisville, setting a track record as a member of the Mile Relay Team in the State High School Championship Track Meet in 1949, and at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky where he graduated summa cum laude, he was President of his fraternity Phi Kappa Tau, President of the Interfraternity Council, and Senior Class President in 1953. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army at the Pentagon. Earle retired from Kurfees Paints who hired him after previously working at Belknap as the top salesman in the Kurfees Paint division. Prior, he worked for Eldorado Tire Company and Ford Motor Company where he was one of the opening supervisors for material control at the Kentucky Truck Plant. He was a member of Harvey Browne Presbyterian Church.
Earle was the son of Franklin and Edna Peters Stone, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Tom Stone (Melanie), and daughter Sally Wilson (Ward) of Louisville, as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving him is his companion, Myrna Silcox. Preceding him in death were his brothers Milton Stone, Frederick Stone and sister Shirley May Leslie.
As Earle directed, he was cremated and there will be no public memorial service.
