Dwyer "Shorty" Francis Pettitt, 73, of West Point, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
He was born on July 3, 1947 in Rochester, New York to Dwyer and Lucille (Bryant) Pettitt. Shorty served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharge in 1970. He worked in Civil Service and Preventative Maintenance at Ft. Knox's Army Base. He loved all animals, especially his dogs and cat. He liked working in his yard and going fishing from time to time. He enjoyed boating and going to the casino. He liked country music and oldies, his favorite song was House of the Rising Sun by the Animals. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Darlene Pettitt & Donna Lynn Gervasi. Shorty is survived by his loving wife 41 years, Eva Jean Pettitt; daughter, Misty Jean Burnett; niece, Debbie Mitchell; special friends, Mike (Cindy) Phillips, Bill (Terri) White, Bill (Barbara) Rotert, Roy Skinner, Terri Volner, Karen Daniel, Patricia Arthur, Linda Godden, Linda Greer; Tammy Arthur, Heather DarDar and numerous extended family.
