Druie Brown Edward Garrett III, 66, of Hazard, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He graduated from Doss high school in 1979, He worked at the Federal courthouse as a security guard and he retired from Fed-X as a Long Haul Truck Driver. He was on PRP VOLUNTEER Fire Dept for 20 years from 1979 to 1999 and worked his way up from Firefighter, sergeant to Captain in that time. He loved the outdoors camping, Four wheeling and shooting guns with his Firefighter, camping Buddies. He will truly be missed by anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on January 12, 1960 in Louisville, Kentucky to Druie and Lois (Ritchie) Garrett. He is preceded in death by his Father, Druie Brown Edward Garrett, II, Mother, Lois Jean Garrett, Wife, Lorraine Garrett.

Druie is survived by his loving family, Aunts & Uncles, Kathleen (James) Deno, George (Sue) Garrett, Joe (Sharon) Garrett, Betty Horton, his camping and firefighter friends, as well as a host of family and friends to cherish his memory forever.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Valley View Church, (8911 3rd Street Road). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, at Valley View Church.
