Dr. John M. Shepherd, Optometrist, died on September 13, 2016 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born on May 25, 1951 in LaGrange, KY.
Dr. Shepherd attended and completed schools at Oldham County High School, Western KY University, and received his Graduate in Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1976. He practiced Optometry for 40 years in Illinois, LaGrange and Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother, Jessie Virginia Heady Shepherd, father, Malcolm Reece Shepherd; aunt, Dorothy H. Scott and uncle, Frank Lindsey.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Gay Shepherd, son Erikk Jon Shepherd, sister, Dr. Dotty Heady and nieces and nephews.
Pursuant to John's request, he will be cremated. He will be cremated at the Newcomers Funeral Home. He requested no funeral or burial service.
