Dovie Adalene (Mobley) Dailey

Dovie Adalene (Mobley) Dailey, 91, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Dovie was a member of the Main Cross Baptist Church and worked as a waitress for 63 years. She enjoyed dancing, quilting, working in the yard, cooking, and bragging about her fruit trees that she grew during her time in Florida.

She was born on September 6, 1930, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late John Mobley and Garnett (Gilbert) Mobley Holbrook. Along with her parents, Dovie is preceded in death by her son, Timothy "Mike" Pope; brothers, Larry Holbrook, Burl "Pete" Mobley, Kenneth "Kenny" Mobley, William "Bill" Mobley, and Willis Mobley.

Dovie is survived by her loving children, Regina "Jeannie" (Russell) Young, Gary "Butch" (Diana) Pope, James "Jimbo" (Peggy) Pope, Jr., Brian "Tony" Offutt; stepchildren, James (Darlene) Offutt, Jr., Theresa (Doug) Moore, and Tina (Joe) Heath; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and beloved pets, Red and Deuce.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - New Albany (3309 Ballard Lane). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Dovie's memory be made to the American Heart Association or the Dementia Society of America.
