Douglas Powell Wade

Wade, Douglas Powell,73, of Louisville passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Born in Louisville, KY on October 3, 1944 to Louis and Lelia (Powell) Wade, Douglas was a lifelong Louisville resident. He attended Male High School and served proudly in the Marine Corps. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a Life Member of the VFW Post 8639. Douglas held careers in the former Louisville Police Department and State Corrections. He enjoyed golf, fishing, his family and he adored his son.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Ellen Sisti Wade; son, Brian Douglas Wade; sister, Sallye Wade Tilford (Jim); Jeffrey Wade (Joanne); Louis Wade, Jr. (Judie) and nieces and nephews. Our family is grateful for the compassionate gift of Hosparus and his Home Instead caregivers.

Douglas' celebration of life will be held at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions East Chapel, (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be prior on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, (2501 N. Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160) on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2:30 p.m.
