Douglas Harry Coontz, Jr.

March 25, 1951 — November 10, 2021

Douglas Harry "Doug" Coontz, Jr, 70, passed away on November 10, 2021. He was a faithful member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Doug retired from JCPS as a ECE Transition Liaison touching many lives through work and church. His favorite place to get fish and chips was O'Bryan's Tavern and he was known as the deviled egg bandit at family gatherings. He was a smart, proud, strong and loving man.

He was preceded in death by his significant other, Edna Thomas and his parents, Douglas Harry "Doug" and Jonell Coontz.

Doug is survived by his daughter, Hannah Coontz; step daughter, Tracey Gray; step-son, Matthew Koch; granddaughter, Taylor Dooley-Gray and great-granddaughters, Skylynn Yates and Sundara Yates.

A memorial gathering with be Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 3pm-8pm with a celebration of Doug's life beginning at 6pm lead by Father Bill Burks.
