Douglas Linwood Conway Sr., a cherished father, grandfather, and pillar of his family, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 93, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born on January 5, 1932, and lived a life marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to those around him.

Doug proudly served his country as a member of the Navy during the Korean War, an experience that took him on travels around the world and instilled in him a deep sense of pride and duty. After returning home, he pursued a long and successful career, working diligently for over 38 years as a Plant Superintendent for Reynolds Aluminium Company, where he was respected for his hard work and honesty.

Education was important to Doug, who graduated from John Marshall High School and furthered his studies at Bellarmine College. This commitment to learning was reflected in his approach to life, valuing hard work and perseverance.

Doug was not only defined by his career and military service; he was a multifaceted man with a genuine passion for life. He loved spending time outdoors, indulging in hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and restoring vintage Austin Healey sports cars. However, what truly brought him joy was the time spent with his family and friends, making memories that would last a lifetime. His greatest accomplishment was watching his family grow and thrive, a testament to the love and guidance he provided.

He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and loyalty, being described as a loving husband, devoted father, caring grandfather, great-grandfather, and compassionate brother and friend. Douglas is survived by his son, Douglas Linwood (Linda) Conway, Jr.; son, Scott Denton (Lori) Conway; sister, Gaye Martin; sister, Judy (Dickie) Morrison; grandchildren, Jacob Reid (Larry Gowdy) Conway, Shea D. (Ashley) Conway, Allie Conway, Rachel (Ian) Schmitt Amis, Taylor L. Conway, Hunter S. Conway; great-grandson, Hudson Conway; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Conway; and sister-in-law, Linda Witchman.

Douglas is predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Nancy L. Conway; his father, Thurlow Reid Conway; his mother, Erma Conway; and his daughter, Donna Schmitt.

In remembering Doug, we honor a man whose life was filled with love, service, and devotion to his family. His spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
