Doug Wilson

Doug Wilson, a beloved member of the Louisville community, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on July 8, 1935, in Pond Creek, Kentucky, Doug lived a full life dedicated to his family, friends, and passions.

Throughout his years, Doug was known for his magnetic smile and warm personality. He had a unique ability to connect with people, never meeting a stranger, which made him a cherished friend to many. Doug was a devoted and active member of Spirit Life Church of God, where he contributed greatly to the community. He had a particular fondness for gardening, and he will be fondly remembered for his passion for growing blue ribbon-winning tomatoes. 

Doug is survived by his brother, Walter Wilson, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, all of whom will hold dear the memories they shared with him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Patty Akers Wilson; his parents, Otis and Ollie Wilson; and his ten siblings, all of whom he cherished deeply.

Visitation services will be held on November 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at SpiritLife Church of God, located at 6901 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY 40228. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville. 

Doug Wilson's presence will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his spirit and legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those he touched.
