Dortha Marie Bowers

Dortha Marie Bowers, 86, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Dortha enjoyed being outdoors and absolutely loved her grandchildren. She retired from General Electric after many years of employment.

She was born on December 28, 1934, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Leonard and Alma (Hublard) Reardon. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. Bowers, Sr.; daughter, Patty Hall; brother, Leonard S. Reardon; and sister, Billie Butterfield.

Dortha is survived by her daughter, Pam Baker; daughter, Lesley Conley; son, Lee Bowers; sister, LaVerne (Stepro) Perkins; brother, Steve Reardon; brother, Mike Hubbard; grandchildren, Rickey (Joy) Baker, Jr., Sean Baker, Sr., Zech (Jessica) Hall, Amber Conley, and Ashley (Brian Reyes) Conley; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Veron Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
