Dorothy Kathleen Wilcoxen, the daughter of Joseph William Taylor and Nina Ella (Perkins) Taylor was born July 24, 1923 in Clermont, Kentucky. She passed away January 29, 2022 at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, Kentucky at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stoner Wilcoxen, her brother, Joseph William Taylor, her sister, Nellie Mae Ernst Crowe, her son-in-law, John Barber Broyles, and her great grandson, Dale Walker Schneidtmiller.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith Carole Green (Clifford), Joyce Kay Broyles, and Charlotte Pamela McClure (Albert), grandchildren, Leslie Schneidtmiller, Laura Flint, Jonathan Broyles, Jeffrey Broyles, Barbara Annis, Jeremy Broyles, Wendy Perdue, Judy Kramer, Katy McIntosh and Chase McClure, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 27, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a faithful member of the Middletown Congregation at the time of her death and was zealous in her ministry work for decades. She worked at the old Levy Brothers department store for several years. She also worked as the bookkeeper/office manager for Tri-Way Trim and Craftsman Construction before retiring. She was an avid yard saler, enjoyed cooking and sewing, and was well known for her love of rabbits - some of her grandchildren fondly called her by the name Grandma Bunny.
A private interment will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington, Kentucky with a memorial to be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 3:00 pm via Zoom. Arrangements are being handled by Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.
