Dorothy D. Spencer, 63, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 1, 1953. She attended the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at 1630 West Muhammad Ali Blvd. and was a publisher for SMC3.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa Bowen and Sylvester Hyde.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 17 years, Darryl Spencer; three children, James Stanley Scott, Frederick E. (Felicia Lynne) Keltee, Jr., and Chakeem J. Spencer; grandchildren, Javyn Tayari Keltee, Corey Marcellus Sullivan and Tyeeshia Renee Carney; great-granddaughter, Marie Renee Carney; a sister, Theresa Coleman; three brothers, Melvin Tarver, Alphonso Tarver, Nathaniel Tarver; and a host of other family members and friends.

The family will gather on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1630 West Muhammad Ali Blvd at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016.
